Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association - Rock your socks for Down Syndrome Awareness Week!

Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association invite the Hampshire community to support their celebrations during Awareness Week 15th- 21st March.

Last year thousands of individuals in schools, workplaces and organisations joined the celebrations by supporting the charity’s ‘Rock Your Socks’ Campaign. This global initiative raises awareness and promotes inclusion by inviting individuals to wear colourful socks for one day, the wackier the better!

Charity chairperson Rachael Ross MBE says, “We are all individuals with our own strengths, and we all deserve the right to experience success and be acknowledged as valued members of our communities.  By wearing ‘different’ socks, we hope to highlight the importance of tolerance and acceptance, and to celebrate our wonderful differences which make us all so unique.  When people with Down syndrome are given opportunities to participate and be fully included, the whole community benefits.”
